Let Buyers Know Exactly What You Are Selling
Use your computer to write up details of your home. Write a
clear description of your house stating the type of building,
the number of bedrooms and give a summary of the other
rooms. Don't forget to detail the front and rear of the
property and any land to the sides.
Give accurate measurements of all the rooms. Note the number
of electrical sockets in each room, and any built in storage or
special or unusual features. Also, mention any improvements
that have been made, and where possible, mention
that receipts are available to prove the work has been
done.
Describe the area in which your home is situated -
proximity to bus routes, railway station, local stores,
schools, parks and so on. Describe the front and rear garden
areas and driveway, garage and any outbuildings.
Take some photographs, both of the front and rear of the
building, as well as a few interior shots. Use a digital camera
as this will enable you to save the photos to the hard drive on
your computer. If you don't already own one there are some
excellent inexpensive digital cameras available.
Prepare your house details into an easy to read and
understand document complete with the photographs. Don't go
into too much small detail. That's where the showing / viewing
comes in, people can find out for themselves. It should
include everything that you, as a house buyer, would want to
know yourself.
After someone has made an appointment to look over your
house, you will be able to send an email confirming the time
agreed and enclose the house details as an email attachment.
For those without email, you can print a few copies off and put
them in the post with a covering letter confirming
arrangements.
